Hackney Liberal Democrats Pasta and Politics; Does Size Zero Matter?
(Wednesday, October 15, 2008)

Meeting type:Social event
Date:Wednesday, October 15, 2008
Time:8.00pm - 10.00pm
Description:

"Size Zero" refers to the impossible dress size that the fashion industry appears to think we should be wearing.

We are delighted to be holding our next Pasta and Politics at Sylvia's near Newington Green.
Our guest speaker for this evening is Dee Doocey, who is one of our Liberal Democrat representatives on the Greater London Assembly (GLA).
1 in 40 people in the UK have an eating disorder – that’s over 1 million people.
The numbers are increasing and the victims are getting younger.
The British Fashion Council’s refusal to introduce health certificates for models has done nothing to help the situation.
Dee Doocey, Lib Dem member of the London Assembly, will argue that the fashion industry has a duty to put the health of its models before profits, and will outline her campaign to get things changed.

The cost is £8 waged, £5 low income.

It helps us if you book in advance. Make a cheque to "Hackney Liberal Democrats" and send it to Shaun Sanders, 2 Cleveleys Close, Clapton, E5 9JN.
